The market has plenty of stalls but finding what you want is a bit of an adventure ! If you are prepared to take the time to look around you can find pretty much anything.

Although you may buy cheap meat at the meat & fish market, the quality is crap, you will be buying bones & tough old frozen meat, avoid!!!

The "world famous" Bury market is not exactly what I expected, to be fair is no different to an indoor/outdoor market that I have been to anywhere else. The pungent smell of the fish stalls is enough to put you off before you start

Old type market, you name it, you can get it here! plenty to eat and drink, many open stalls, close to shops, bus routes. Coach trips come the famous Bury market from all over.

First visit to Bury market. A very large market with plenty of stalls but all selling the same things. Lots of very cheap old fashioned clothes. The meat and fish market was ok. Not much else to see in Bury.

Freshly cooked crab is available every Market Day, but if you want fresh live crabs they should be ordered a couple of days before you require them.

Dogs are allowed on the Open Market on the understanding that they are well behaved and kept on a lead at all times. The Market is a very busy place and we would discourage people bringing dogs that are nervous around large... More
