We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Leave plenty of time as there is so much to see. We were booked in at a pub for lunch and had to leave halfway through. Will certainly be back to complete the tour. The volunteers are passionate about the museum and the video seeing them build the large hangar from scratch is awe-inspiring.
Highly recommended.

A warm welcome from the owner and head collector! We were visiting the Cornwall at War Museum for the first time and were really impressed with the overall collection and dedication of the volunteers. We spent nearly 3 hours on site and then went for an explore around the airfield. The videos in the display rooms were extremely helpful and informative. Overall, an excellent place to visit

If you are into history and particularly aviation, then this Cornish attraction is well worth a visit. This was my second visit and I was completely blown away and overwhelmed with how much has been added since then. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and also have a vast knowledge of what you will see. There are 18 different buildings to enter each with a specific theme. I cannot put into words the sheer quantity of artefacts on display in each of the buildings and the attention to detail. It is by far one of the best museums I have ever visited and one I will return to time and time again. There are light refreshments available on site and a very well stocked gift shop and facilities.

An incredible collection put together with a lot of passion and hard work over the years. Plenty of time, or more than one visit, is necessary to absorb the content, not just that of the overall museum, but of each section within. So many fascinating artifacts and things to see, at times it was almost overwhelming to take it all in.
Friendly and very helpful staff / volunteers, I highly recommend anyone to pay a visit to this museum, especially if having an interest in military and / or aviation history. I look forward to visiting next year and taking one of the Airfield tours. Thank you for the hospitality and taking the time to chat.

We found this place at Tintagel and went to have a visit. Pulled in to a salute from the collection owner we found out later. There is so much to see, this amazing collection all while preserved. The whole collection is so varied. We just wish we had more time to take it all in. We will be back!!

Very interesting eclectic collection of items, ran by a very enthusiastic friendly couple.
We have been here 3 times over the years, and have seen different things each time we have visited. There are so many things to look at, videos to watch etc, that you could easily spend the best part of the day here.
The couple that own the museum are very funny, very friendly and happy to chat.
They have the best stories to tell, and are quick to raise a laugh. You only have to watch the first video in the first building to see their sense of humour.
Would recommend this museum, definately good value for money. In a museum, it makes a nice change to see a bit of character in a world of highly polished, sleek exhibits. This is a collection of things that this couple are interested in, and is not highly polished, but this is a huge bonus for us!
Keep an eye out for the amusing writeups that accompany exhibits!

Fascinating collection of war memorabilia , well laid out, interesting creative displays , there is so much to see, it’s very deceptive, we spent 4 hours looking round the 20 rooms. Lots to look at, plus videos of the building of the museum , air to air refuelling of a Vulcan.and much more. Lots of seating if you need to take a break. Stopped for a self serve brew, 50p for a tea. Great value £7 and the volunteer staff are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic

Are you still able to learn to drive on the disused runway/taxiway?

It's a bit rough to drive on. Davidstow airfield is private land but people do drive on the runway. Wouldn't recommend any faster than 10mph.

The museum does not own the runways which I believe belong to a farmer who keeps a flock of sheep on them. The museum probably know who to contact, maybe worth a phone call.

We visited today expecting to spend about an hour in a small local museum. We were there for 4 interesting hours. It’s an astounding collection of military memorabilia and information put together by a small group of enthusiasts and volunteers. The film of how the derelict airbase was transformed into the museum was fascinating. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the entrance fee well worth it.
Is it free for locals if not how muce is entry.
Do you have an aerial picture of the whole airfield and surrounding area ?

Hi Kevin admission was £3 last year but so worth it! There is another museum next to it but smaller where admission is free with donation box on way out. Sorry don't have aerial picture. PS there is also free parking.
It has a number of disused runways right next to it.

Is there anywhere to get food onsite?

Only in the "Naffi Tent" area and it is very basic, you can make tea/coffee and buy crisps and biscuits etc. There is a honesty box to use and children this room on school visits. Like the rest of the museum it is good fun and a bit quirky.
