This is a delightful house and very cosy despite being quite large. The gardens are lovely and you can wander the grounds, including a cider room that has a display and also a running DVD showing the gardens and other aspects of the house, The...More

A beautiful old house has been destroyed by modernisation. The house is used as a holiday let and subsequently has been updated with modern bathrooms and kitchen. Not at all what I expected. The best part about the place is the extensive grounds.

Only popped in for a cuppa but found a little gem. Very interesting history also used in Poldark. Very informative and actively being restored.

First, I want to comment on Ed M and his point about the NT overcharging - I too take issue with how various places display their charges and the NT are very good at taking extra funds if they can! I even heard one of...More

Interesting house and gardens to walk through. In May the woodlands on the walk in are dreamy with bluebells and dappled light. The walk to the top is well worth it though - a few miles but the views across to St Michaels Mount are...More

We were in the area and chose these gardens to visit rather than the other two NT ones in the area. We were a little disappointed as there was not much to see because the house was not open, apart from one room with nothing...More
