OUR 19th year of visiting the fairways accommodation.
This year , we had 14 players in our group, I say players, not many of us are proper golfers!
Just kidding, we had a variety of handicaps from 13 to 46. the course was only a week behind maintenance week but the greens played fair and the fairways recovered well after the heatwave. The accommodation was very good as always. We had 5 new players this year we guided them around the course, just like a kind member did for us during our very first visit.
One of our new players decided to read the scary reviews the night before the trip said after the weekend that next year he will tame the course.....with a strimmer.....he spent a lot of time in the deep Woe....when advised there is no rough on the fairways his retort was, "are fairways new to golf "?...despite his his high handicap, high stroke rate and low stableford score he wants to return next year and so we will! The course is ace, the staff are ace, the food is very good. the bar could do with opening longer in the evening but that's a small price to pay.

Best place to holiday ever, emma and everyone who works there are so kind and helpful, they will always make sure you have a fantastic holiday. The caravans are always clean tide and comfortable to stay in and the breakfast in the club house is amazing , the view from the course is breathtaking. The beach is over 3 miles of golden sands, so clean and safe. This is why we wouldnt holiday anywhere else . Thank you perranporth golf club and perranporth beach for lots of fantastic holidays and i hope for many many more to come, The daniels family

Absolutely fantastic holiday at PGC. We hired a lodge and a caravan and found them to be very clean and comfortable and the view from the lodge overlooking the sea and the 18th green were a treat. The staff at the club house are all very friendly and two of played golf all week ( what a golf course) . Thanks Emma.
This is our second time at PGC and we’ll definitely be back again.

Perranporth deserves to be on any golfers list of "must play" courses. Starting on the fairly benign opening hole, you then start the real journey through what has to be described as "mountainous" terrain, with exciting golf shots at every turn. Greens were in great condition, the views were out of this world. Cannot recommend this course highly enough. Only small gripe was a member asking one of our 4ball to remove their hat in the awesome clubhouse (which was bustling and full of life). It may just be me, but, whilst I understand and accept some people and more traditional clubs like hats removed, I also feel when you have visitors, sat having a beer chatting about how awesome the course was, then being asked to remove it... well, it just kind of ruins the moment (I should ass, 3 of us had removed our hats, 1 had simply forgot in the excitement of the day). I will add that we were made to feel so welcome by the pro who was awesome, and the other 99% of members we met along the way, many asking "is this your first time?" Then (once we hd said yes it was out first time) "Good luck!" Ha, brilliant, loved every part of this round.

My husband and I visited Perranporth Pro golf shop yesterday ( 7th January 2022. Approx.1330).
We needed waterproof trousers.
There appeared to be no one in the shop but while we were looking at the men’s trousers,I suddenly saw someone behind the counter which actually made me jump as he hadn’t said a word!
I asked if there were any ladies waterproof trousers and he pointed to bags on the floor and said ‘down there’.
It was obvious we couldn’t read the sizes on the bags but the ‘sales person’ was no help whatsoever and continued doing whatever he was doing at the counter.
I tried on large which were too small and as I tried on extra large I asked if these trousers were made on the small side. He replied,’ does it matter if they fit?’
At this point we decided we were not going to pay £80 in a shop where we were not welcomed and were offered no help at all. I would also like to point out that I am not an over sized lady!
We live in Perranporth and were very surprised at the manner in which we were treated. When we’ve been in the clubhouse the staff have been great.
This person was completely disinterested so I really wouldn’t recommend the Pro shop.

We drove from Port Issac to play and, boy, we were not disappointed. We usually play St. Enodoc, Trevose and The Point being close by our hotel but this trip introduced us to a lovely cliff and dunes course, something we were not anticipating.
Up, down, blind tees, strong winds and a great greeting by the Pro, reception and the bar staff.

This is a true, friendly members club that produces a good golf, true greens at a price that should make St. Enodoc and Trevose blush......we love both these latter courses but value for money you can't do better than Perranporth.

Views are brilliant so ensure you take a photo as you play......if the sun is shining and the wind is blowing it's a good test. as for the beer and pasties......well!

We recently stayed in Caravan 8 on the golf course. We knew the caravan was going to be quite dated but are pleased to report that the stay exceeded our expectations. Yes, the upholstery and curtains were on the chintzy side but everything was well presented and immaculately clean and the shower powerful. It was a standard 4 berth caravan but our double bed was more comfortable than the one in the well known chain hotel we had stayed in en route to Perranporth.

We were greeted cheerfully and everything was well explained to us including how to walk down to the beach. The receptionist (sorry can't remember her name) is an asset to the club as she dealt with any issues (the only one being the battery going low in the carbon monoxide monitor) instantly, with a sense of humour.

The location of the site is amazing. It is quietly situated overlooking the coast. We walked up and down to the beach a couple of times a day - a fairly easy walk down but a bit of a climb back up. The view took away any tiredness from the walk though. We are keen runners so it was fantastic to run down to such a beautiful beach and back up through the dunes or through the amazing golf course. Our 13 year old son had surf lessons on 4 mornings with the Perranporth Surf school so it was easy to get him down there ready for his early lesson.

We enjoyed it so much that we booked whilst we were there for next year and have happily recommended it to many friends.
