This is a very nice individual market in downtown Lancaster. It is made up of mostly meat, cheese & other raw food vendors. There are a few artisans. Many of the booths are Mennonite or Amish. It wasn't too busy when we visited - mid-day before Thanksgiving.

Central Market is definitely a place to take your out of town visitors to sample a little bit of Lancaster County. The market folks have taken great care to limit the number of "flea market" vendors and to make sure that there is a wide ethnic diversity of fresh food purveyors as well as ready to eat foods that should... If you visit downtown Lancaster, you must include a stop at our Central Market. The building is historic and beautiful, but the produce, meats, poultry, cheeses, and delicacies are even better. Don't miss it!

One of the oldest farmer's markets in the country. Incredible food to eat while shopping for fresh meats, produce, and seafood. Ethnic foods are a treat as well. This is a must-do in center city Lancaster, Pa

It was entirely too crowded to enjoy. Wall to wall people and we couldn't really look around. It was fun to check out but I don't think I'd go again. There are a lot of restaurants within close proximity.

Central Market is the oldest continuously operating farmers market in the country. It is an architectural gem housing local vendors (read actual farmers and bakers) who sell their products in the market. We also have a variety of food vendors representing the cultural diversity of Lancaster county. This is where I buy almost all of the food for my home.... More

Centrally located, close to other attractions, many items usually only found in the country. Parking and restaurants are nearby.

This is a stop we hit just about every time in the Lancaster area. Fresh produce, local meats and great places to get a quick cup of coffee and a snack.
