More
The Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery, established in 1861, is the first commercial pretzel bakery in America. As of August 2007, the site is under new ownership. The bakery and store have been completely renovated and are now operated once again by the Sturgis family. Visitors can tour the original pretzel bakery, see soft pretzels being made by hand, and find pretzels baked by the oldest pretzel baking family in the United States.

Went on a whim. Looked at some interesting things and had a tasty samples. Took the tour, learned how to make a pretzel as well as finding out the story behind them. Well worth the $3.50 for the tour.

You probably never thought much about how, where, and the history of pretzels. The tour provides a wealth of information with hands on activity, historic artifacts, and a tasty treat. Worth your time.

We took our family with four young children and the tour was fun and interactive as we got to twist our own pretzels and learn how they hand twisted pretzels.

If you're interested in how pretzels used to be made, this museum/tour is perfect. You'll also learn how to shape a pretzel out of play dough. By the way, downtown Lititz is a very nice place for a stroll.

Fun place for families to learn the history of pretzels and this company. It is a bit warm in the back during the tour so just be aware on a hot day. After the tour you can purchase bags of pretzels in many varieties reasonably...More

51 years ago I visited this bakery as a little boy and this weekend I had the pleasure of returning to make my own soft pretzel myself all over again. Great inexpensive must do in this beautiful little town.
