Easy to find with plenty of room for parking in their lot or on the street. Restrooms inside the Visitors Center. This was my first time there and they were celebrating Priestley's birthday so admission was free and there was a birthday cake. A retired chemistry teacher, who portrays Dr. Priestley, spoke about 'his' life and then conducted 18th century... More

Well worth a visit! A hidden gem in the town of Northumberland. The volunteer staff is knowledgeable and friendly and make you feel like family. The house tour is informative and well worth the small admission charge. The small gift shop has great items to help remember your visit. Highly recommend a visit to learn more about Joseph Priestley and... More

Joseph Priestly was a minister, teacher, writer and scientist. Unfortunately many of his accomplishments are little known. The tour which lasts about one hour covers history, architecture, mid 18th century science and the personal life of Joseph Priestly and his family. The volunteers are enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Seth conducted our tour and he was great. The tour begins with... More

This location should be a national monument to one of the greatest figures of all time. His contributions to humanity were too numerous to mention here. If you want to know more about him just google his name. Unfortunately, for some reason I do not understand he is not very well known in historical terms, but is a giant among... More

Jacob Priestley was an important figure in English and American history. Even more than his contributions to chemistry, he was an important religious philosopher. American democracy would not have been the same without his ideas. Here, on the banks of the Susquehanna, is his American home. The volunteers who staff this site are particularly friendly and dedicated to preserving his... More

I've been to this Museum two times, and I couldn't believe how rich Joseph & his Priestley Family was! Joseph was a famous English Immigrant and Millionaire who came to the United States in 1794, and lived at this house, until 1804, when he died at the age of 71. What he is famous for is not the fact that... More
