My husband and I decided to duck into this museum on a Rainey day! We didn't realize how big it is. It really is an awesome museum from Steelers memorabilia, to Heinz history and more. Unfortunately we ran out of time and I asked if they offer a discount if you come back on day two and they don't,so that... More

I must admit, my kids are more into football stadiums and baseball parks than museums. Today, that changed. We visited the Senator Heinz Museum and were blown away by the creative, comprehensive and historical glimpse into Americana in Pittsburgh and beyond. Whatever you do in this city, DO NOT miss this amazing experience.

Plenty of interactive things to do and a lot of interesting items. There are a number of floors and each one has a different theme, including technology and sport. I found the museum really interesting and easily spent 3 hours there without seeing everything.

Back in my hometown for Thanksgiving, family and friends went to this gem of a museum. Various rates depending on age, etc. interestingly the building was an ice house once. A must treat if your are visiting this proud city. Sports exhibits galore and all in between. Mr. Rodgers display, very nice for kids of all ages😉

This is such a great museum. It showcases Pittsburgh with its pictures and artifacts and the cities love for sports. There are various discounts that you can take like AAA. There is a little cafe for sandwiches, salads and soups. There are restrooms nearly on every floor. They have $5-$10 flat parking rate at the center. When we entered there... More

After 20 years, I revisited the Senator John Heinz History Center and I have to say, "I love the exhibits." We enjoyed the Sports exhibit with all the information on diverse sports, but I was particularly attracted to the From Slavery to Freedom exhibit and the Rediscovering Lewis and Clark. The Glass: Shattering Notions exhibition was also quite informative. All... More

The Heinz History Center is among the best regional museums anywhere in the U.S. The exhibits are visually appealing, professionally prepared, and "user friendly" in their interpretation. Perhaps at least half of the exhibits could hold some appeal for pre-schoolers. You could easily spend hours here. Even if you're not interested in Pittsburgh the city, you'll probably find a few...
