Hi! We're having a great time at Children's Museum of Pittsburgh and the only thing missing is you. MAKESHOP, our tinkering space, has real tools and materials such as wood, sewing machines, hammers, nails, a loom, animation station and more. Jump right in, that circuit isn't going to build itself! The Art Studio is calling for your creative energy to design and ink a silkscreen, paint, sculpt clay and create something unique alongside the many working artists who visit. Young ones, you are royalty in the Nursery, a space filled with colors, shapes and textures perfect for your growing minds and bodies. The Attic, Garage and Waterplay (because it's just not fun until your underwear is soaked) round out the permanent exhibits. But not so fast. From marching bands, slam poets and cultural traditions to letters that fall from the ceiling and a crawling maze made out of packing tape, our temporary exhibits, performers, programs, artists-in-residence and artwork are particularly awesome too. If we don't hear the protests of departing kids at the end of each day, we're not doing our jobs right.

This is an awesome Children's Museum and it's made the way a children's museum should be. It's multiple levels of hands on kids activities. It has an arts and crafts section, water section (tip, bring swim suits and a towel) it has science in it, and all sorts of awesomeness. I would recommend bringing kids here all the time.

We've been to a few children's museums (my wife asked where the display of kids was in this museum), but this one is fantastic. We planned to go to the Science Center, but our kid was so happy here, we stayed 4.5 hours, and we'll do the Science Center on another trip. From the craft room, to the climbing maze,... More

Awesome place for little kids to explore, and experience various science phenomena. They can play and learn simultaneously not even realizing they are seeing the miracles of science. Fascinating and totally interactive for all ages, especially young toddlers and pre schoolers. Impressed how patient and polite most children and adults were in sharing and waiting their turns to try new things.... More

This place is WILD. We went during Christmas break, so I expected a crowd but this was a little ridiculous. Honestly, it was so crowded we just wanted to leave the entire time and the kids couldn't really engage in any of the activities. It looked like a great kids' museum with the typical exhibits and cool activities. I would... More

We had a family outing to the Pgh Childrens Museum that was enjoyed by all. Ages 2 to 65 were all entertained for several hours. Water play on top floor should be done last. (bring towels, bathing suits for kids). Food at the small snack bar was fine for lunch. Getting there upon opening is best before crowds. (Some activities are... More

I am from Youngstown, Ohio and we have a children's museum available to us. We go once in awhile. we then went to Cleveland's and thought, wow this is nice. But then we drove to Pittsburgh and we were super impressed. it is large. There are so many things to do. The whole top floor is dedicated to water play.... More

Interesting building. This is a great place to go with kids, lots of hands on interactive fun. Plan on spending the afternoon here. Our 10 year old son enjoys spending time in the garage, waterplay and the attic If you're traveling a distance to get here bring a change of clothes, so your kids don't have to ride home wet... Four adults had a blast at the museum. Not just for kids and if you can go on a kids free night even better. Interesting demonstrations and displays to keep the kid alive in everyone.

We took our two-year old son on a road trip to the Pittsburgh area to visit the many Daniel Tiger/Mister Rogers-related attractions. We had read online that the Children's Museum had a neat Daniel Tiger exhibit, and we were not disappointed. All the areas that were open for our visit were well taken care of and thoughtfully put together. Our... More
