It is very nice from the outside and they truly are attempting to change the inside through major renovations, but there are many areas that just aren't open. We went on our spring break with our kids. They enjoyed the environmental exhibit with water, air, etc. However, there were many areas that we couldn't visit as they were redoing those.... More

This place is exceptionally education. I really enjoyed the planetarium which was also highly educational. All the exhibits are well done and highly professional. I really like how they give you the project and the rationale behind the project. I found the tour of the submarine my favorite part of the visit. The facilities are in somewhat unkempt conditions and... More

Great place to explore. Lots to see especially for kids. Plan at least half a day for your visit. Adults may enjoy but I would say mostly for kids of all ages.

Amazingly intricate O gage exhibit. We made 3 turns around & still missed all the items. The other exhibits were great for kids and offered hands on displays. Our main focus was the railroad and the USS Requin.

We were visiting on spring break and it was very hands on. My kids are 10 and it had a lot of things for them to do. We also got to tour the submarine behind the museum. It is located at the end of the train and in the free district.

This is a great place for families with young children! There are a number of hands on activity that keep young minds engaged. The Highmark Sportswork is worth checking out and is included in the admission price, weekends and after the summer camps let out the lines here can be very long.

The Carnegie Science Center is a great place to spend the day with the family and has quite a bit to offer for all ages. There are a lot of hand on exhibits that allow you to experience the science in action, as opposed to reading about it or watching from a distance.

This science center is geared toward 12 year olds and younger. Don't go if you are a solo adult or a couple. Otherwise it is nice.
