Forbes Field has been replaced by the PNC stadium

The PNC Stadium is a modern stadium which has beautiful views of the city and the rivers. Many couples have their wedding reception here as well.

Glad to see that they kept homeplate and some of the outfield wall after the demo of Forbes Field. It would be a shame to not maintain the history. In the heart of campus, so definitely worth taking a minute or two to check it out. I like how they turned part of the wall into benches. Loved the historic... More

We actually biked over here and parking was not a problem. The old wall and commemorative plaque is right in the middle of the University of Pittsburgh. Only about 100 ft. Of the left field wall remains and I am not sure that the footage numbers on the wall are accurate, but it was worth the trip just for nostalgic... More

What can you say about a wall. Not much. But, when I was a student and Carnegie Tech, I had the opportunity to go to a ball game or two. I recall that late in the game, they would let anyone come in so I saw the ends of a few games. At that time I was a Yankee fan.... More

The place where old field once stood, not much other than that but at least it's something to remember

If you can remember trying to tune in KDKA in the middle of the evening, straining to hear the announcers through the static, then you have to go. There isn't much left here on the Pitt campus. Part of an outfield wall. But it's enough to bring back the memories of Mazerowski, Stargell, Clemente.

Growing up in Southern California in the 1960s I am not sure why but the Pirates were my favorite team and Roberto Clemente was my favorite player. I would have loved to attend a game a game at Forbes Field. I never got the opportunity. I saw the Pirates play at Dodger Stadium and I remember watching the Bucs play... More

My family is from Pittsburgh though I am a Red Sox fan. I had not given much thought to going here until I learned my grandfather used to take my mother and my uncles to see Pirate games here when they were little. All that remains now is the a portion of the outfield wall. It is on the campus... More

Home plate located inside Posvar, outfield wall still up across the street, outfield lines on the sidewalk, and roberto clemente road...any baseball enthusiast would appreciate it.
