I went with my daughter on a very hot June day. There were very nice shady spots such as the Asian Gardens and the grounds were well maintained. You could easily spend the whole day taking in the different gardens.

This garden is enchanting in every way. But for the experience to be rated excellent I would recommend taking the time to pack a very special picnic befitting the energy of Chanticleer. Unfortunately there is no accommodation for sweet little lunch which would make the...More

Wander at your own pace. Over a mile of paved walk way or stroll off the beaten path. Beautiful and exotic plants and flowers. Everything was in full bloom for our visit. Staff was pleasant and entry price is reasonable. Some areas may cause exertion....More

My husband and I visited May 23. The grounds were just lovely. Everything spring was in bloom. With an absolutely gorgeous day it was a great time of year to visit! Not too hot for walking and enjoying the beautiful blooms and greenery!

“Monet would have loved this” those are not my words, those are the words I overheard another visitor use to describe this. While the grounds are not as manicured as those at Longwood Gardens, they are more natural. The grounds are beautifully kept. There are...More

Very well kept, great walking paths. We visited mid-april and waa concerned it would be worth the $10 entrance fee. Well worth it! We chose to wander on our own, but doing a scheduled tour of the house was another option.

Not one inch is ignored. Every month of the year a new, wonderful aspect reveals itself. Like Longwood Gardens, there is plenty of endowment money to support it. Brilliant and so well executed!

No. But I'd wear comfortable walking shoes. There is a paved path, it is a good 1-2 mile walk around property.
