Great to hear! The whitewater releases are really fun, they guarantee extra water on the river to make the rapids more exciting. Dam release dates for 2017 are posted online.

Why are there no helmets? I have been white water rafting several times in North Carolina and there were always helmets required. I will be with my 12-year old son. Also the guides were in the rafts with us, but it seems like they are not in the raft. Also how long is the trip? We will be traveling from Philadelphia on vacation there so I need to budget our time. Thanks!

If the date I am looking to go isn't a dam release day (July 2) will the rapids still be big or will it just be like floating down a river?
