We visited the park on out second day, after spending the first day taking in the canyon from the Rail Trail, it was neat knowing that while at the park we were up in some of the mountains we observed from the Rail Trail! This...More

We are very casual hikers and found it somewhat difficult to navigate the park signs. We did find our way to Rim Trail and Barbour Trail. Both are quite easy and level. The Barbour Trail is deemed handicap accessible and had nice, flat gravel without...More

Colton Point State Park is the quiet side of the PA Grand Canyon. It has all the things that Leonard Harrison has but it's more rustic and nature oriented. We hiked the Rim Trail and enjoyed the solitude this trail offered. The vistas are awesome....More

We visited Colton Point first and admittedly didn't give it a chance. We didn't have a proper map and there is nothing or no one there to help. The views we did see were beautiful, but we never found the rim trail. You may prefer...More

We enjoyed the visit here. Our opinion was that this is the better side for picture taking in the afternoon.

If you want really good views of the Grand Canyon of PA, then come to this State Park and not Leonard Harrison to the west - the views are so much better here. There is a small Visitor Centre with an interpretive display and a...More

No visitor facilities that we could see. It appears to be primarily for hikers. The one overlook we stopped at had a very limited view of the canyon.

Though Leonard Harrison is the busier of the two parks, this one had the BEST view at the first or second stop. They don't seem to do the upkeep in this one like at Leonard and a lot of the viewing areas, were overgrown. It's...More

I really no knowledge of this, however, I would say contacting the State Park Service would be a good place to start probably. You may also find information through the Chamber of Commerce in Wellsboro, Pa.

With the lack of rain this year many rivers are very low. I would check with PA. fish &game website for your answer too.
