We were there only a short time, but enjoyed the beach. There are two areas that you can swim in. Lifeguard on duty. The beach is beautiful. Limited parking. We went before 4pm and was able to get in easily.

We arrived on East Beach with deflated tires so we could go past the parking lot because we had an over sand permit. Wow, what a difference - the permit isn't cheap but there are a lot of people out there and we had so...More

This is a lovely public beach with great waves and the ability to take long walks to the west passing lovely Watch Hill homes. The one considerable draw back is the absence of free parking. There are 13, yes 13 free spots on the hill...More

beautiful like all the Charlestown Beaches. Parking is an issue so hit it early if you can. Relax where you fall or walk and explore the dune environs.

The sand is great...very few rocks and that makes it easier to get in and out of the water. If you walk a ways, you practically have the beach to yourself.

East Beach is Rhode Island's best state beach. Limited parking so it is best to get there before 9. You will never be disappointed.

The most unspoiled beach in Rhode Island. Beware of the steep drop-off when getting into the ocean, and the very real possibility of not being able to get a parking spot during the summer. If you have 4wd, get an off-road pass and drive down...More

Unfortunately, we were there on a VERY windy day, but found it interesting how the lifeguards had dug trenches to protect themselves. We walked down the beach, but came back via the dirt road... and found lots of interesting flora to look at, including beach...More

I believe the gates are open after Labor Day. Not sure about a concession stand though. It would probably say on web site.
