We're attempting to climb the high points of several states. This one is kind of laughable. A pleasant enough very short walk. Not worth a special trip.

It's funny that you can hike up boulders gaining hundreds of feet of elevation to reach a high point that is devoid of marker or sign-in log, and then visit a high point like Jerimoth Hill that celebrates your 500 yard walk through a park like you have summited everest! I think we counted 5 or 6 trail markers on... More

Well maintained. Was easy enough to get to the peak. The road you have to cross is a bit hazardous as you are top of a hill and unable to see either side. Really enjoyed this little jaunt.

At only 812 feet, Rhode Island's Highpoint is nothing special. A nice short flat stroll through a wooded path and you're there. A little hard to find the entrance to the trail. There are signs on both sides of the road in the general area of the trail entrance. The entrance is on the eastbound side of route 101 while... More

The state with the next highest high point is mountainous Illinois. That should give you a hint about how intense of a hike you will have on the out and back Jerimoth Hill hike. You will sweat buckets but worth it for the view of some of Rhode Island's loveliest trees. There were also some Nepali prayer flags because this... More

I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but it was really fun and easy for me and my little ones to walk the 200 yards to this Rhode Island high point. Yes, walk. This is not a hike. There is no incline. It's a pleasant stroll through a wooded area to a couple little boulders that... More

There's no view, there are 2 summit plates & the trail is just short & pathetic stuck between 2 yards. I'm glad I did it just to say I bagged the highest summit in Rhode Island but other than that, its just aweful. If you wanna bag the highest state sumit then you have no choice but to do it... More

When you are looking to make your own fun, here is the highest point in RI. Not much of a hike, but there you go!

I live near Jerimoth Hill and lov e to tell people the story of the Hill. Even though it's the highest point in RI, it's the lowest highpoint in all 50 states....but for years it was the toughest one to get to!!!
