Rent a paddleboard, use the boat ramp for your boat. Big parking lot. Bring cash for Del's Lemonade! Perfect family beach, evening picnics with the in the sand grills. Summer never ends at Third Beach! (Remember to bring a bag for your trash removal, they have portable bathroom only)

It's a bay so there's no 🌊 waves. People bring their kayaks and stand up paddle boards there. There's also a boat launch. They have 2 outdoor portable restrooms, but zero trash cans anywhere. So be prepared to take your garbage back home. The water seems kind of dirty to me. It also had a lot of rocks/pebbles on the shore that... More

I love going to Third Beach. It generally has less wind due to its orientation and the waves are small as a result. Many small boats are moored there and there is a boat ramp to launch smaller, trailerable boats. In the summer you may find a food vender and wind surfing lessons.

Third Beach is my go to beach if Second Beach is full. There is a calmer atmoshere and the water has minimal waves. Most beachgoers are families with young children or seniors enjoying the sun and water without the crowds. Teenagers may find the beach a bit too quiet! I have seen windsrfers and paddleboards used. The sand can be... More

This is the least crowded beach in Newport if there is such a thing in the summer time. It is off the beaten path. There are never high waves, that's why probably it isn't that popular.

As a local, I find this beach to be my favorite for its quiet location, and clean sand. I like to walk along the shore in the late afternoon when the beach is mostly deserted. Due to its calm water, it's favored by those w/small children and far less crowded than nearby First and Second beaches. .

We loved Third Beach. The beach is very clean and the water had no rocks or shells in it, which most beaches do, so there was none of the annoyances of the first handful of feet being a problem. The parking is pretty stiff at $25, but I guess everything is a trade off.

A medium sized beach, with calm water. Perfect for little ones or anyone who does not care for big waves. It was nice to look out on the mooring field of boats, very pretty. There is also a snack shack down the beach (didn't go but was nice to know it's there) which is open to all. Porta Potties are... More
