It is absolutely gorgeous and fun hiking, my 6 year old son LOVES coming here. We got a family membership and it is worth it. We had our son's latest birthday party here and it was wonderful. The staff member who led the activities (hike, crafts, and live animal encounter) was nice, great with kids, organized, the kids loved all... More

Thank you so much for hosting your party at NBS! We are so glad that the kids had fun and that the grown-ups got to relax. We like to think that NBS is a sanctuary for humans as well, so were happy that you found some beauty and tranquility while learning a thing or two! More

Fantastic place for an afternoon outdoors with family. Multiple animals and beautiful scenery. Inexpensive and an excellent experience.

325 acres of a wide variety of habitats provide a tranquil setting for walking, bird watching, or just communing with nature. There of miles of trails through woods, fields, marshes and ridge lines offering an almost never ending change of scene and experiences. One trail ends atop the Hanging Rock, a prominent, frequently photographed that features in the works of... More

We hiked the trails here, some were challengingly but worth the effort. We didn't see many birds, but enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. A nice alternative to the cliff walk when the crowds are dense there.

Josh and Dad climbed to the end of hanging rock. First time for Josh to go there. Dad grew up in the area, was there all the time, as a kid. Staff is very informative and on the right day you can be involved in some special events.q

Great way to start the day, or come for a sunset photo op over St. Georges/ second beach...the paths are sturdy for using a cane or walking sticks.

Check in at the visitor's building & pay a fee (I think it was $6 per person). You get a map & explanation of the various hiking trails. We kept it simple & didn't try to hike to Hanging Rock. Our hike was relatively easy although you have to be mindful of exposed rocks & tree roots. It was a... More

The beginning of the trail is a nice gravel path. The signage is very poor. Caretakers, please take my $6 entrance fee and buy a can of spray paint and write directions on the blank pieces of wood nailed to the trees. Caution. There are some sections that are very rocky and steep, and slippery due to gravel, leaves and... More

It was a very hot day, and as a senior citizen, how I wish they had benches to stop and sit and rest. Only one that I saw on a trail, and it was sloped down towards the ground, not level. Even the building/gift shop did not have a bench. Benches outside in the sun. Sturdy shoes for walking, and... More
