We drove along much of the New England Coast visiting beaches, parks, and lighthouses. We had lots to compare from, or some of them would receive higher ratings. We went in early November, so there was no fee. There was nobody at the booths to...More

Hubby and I love the shore, but NOT the crowds or noise which plague summer beaches. This is a favorite spot to visit off-season, when the long and beautiful beach is quiet except for a few locals walking, the occasional fishermen and folks like us...More

Great beach, but it can get really busy on the weekend! Typical for beaches. Free off season. Tourist attraction. Small old style beach hotels.

Visited in the off season, so a lot of the facilities were shut down. Friendly people. Was there when hurricane Maria was out in the Atlantic and was able to view some of the highest waves in 40 years. (Note, the hurricane was far enough...More

This was an impulse stop for me while visiting Rhode Island. Signs pointing the way make it easy to get here, and parking is plentiful. It was free when I visited but that was because it was no longer summer; I'm not sure how much...More

Visited this beach today. Didn't stay! Looked around, felt disgusted and went to East Beach in Westerly. All of the negative reviews are true. I pulled into the parking lot and there were two small plastic bags of garbage behind my car. There was other...More

We were encouraged to check out the beach at this park. It's a shame that the town doesn't complain about the lack of care taken to maintain this otherwise beautiful place. No park staff even close.

Misquamicut State Beach, Westerly, RI has got to be the best of New England. A very wide and long beach with modern facilities. Great surf for body surfing or boogie boarding. The sand is normally free of rocks, but with varying weather it does change...More

Nice beach. Short on sand at high tide. Plenty of activities in walking distance. Very rough with a storm surge

Off seasons yes, but in the summertime no such luck unless you are staying in one of those rental homes or any resort nearby and they have foot path access to the ocean.
