Visit and explore the local history of Narragansett with this amazingly dedicated staff and docents! The workshops (blacksmithing...) are a great way to spend an afternoon

I really enjoyed this museum. So much to learn and see. I super enjoyed talking to Ed in The Print Shop Bldg. It is amazing with all the old presses. I loved it. He told me so much info and he knows a lot. I could have stayed there all day and learned a lot! Some of them are still... More

This is a wonderful museum for kids - lots of hands on exhibits. We went with a 3 year old and 6 year old and they had a wonderful time. They had baby chicks, Rhode Island chickens, and goats. We also saw lots of birds and rabbits. Their exhibits include a printing shop, one room schoolroom, outhouse, blacksmith shop, and... More

Multiple buildings, a range of time periods. Lots of artifacts from the land and the sea, including "petrified" whale bones. What an amazing museum with historical clothing (and Hats, Hats, Hats), arrowheads, fishing nets, washtubs, and SO MUCH more. We were amazed by this place. There are things to see, do and touch. I wish they were open longer as... More

a really nice jewel set in Narragansett,RI which will show you how the area developed over the years, problems with storms, but also how a place can become one of the countries best beach resort areas. A really nice area for all ages with some nice places for food of all kinds but chowder and clam cakes are their main thrust.... More

I was a chaperone for 3 rd grade field trip . Having lived in Narragansett We never thought it was much of an attraction. The field trip was truly a great experience, the volunteers were top notch , animated, interesting and professional. We were given a demonstration by a blacksmith and also a printer. We had a very informative talk... More

Great place to learn all about South County, RI. Lots of school trips make there way there and the Canochet paths on and around the museum makes for a nice hike.

Hoards of Mosquitos, I have never been attacked by a swarm of Mosquitos before. We ran to the car. $10 an adult, $6 a child. We have 4 kids. The printing press building was not even open. The rabbits are sitting on a metal grate, small cage w/ bright green moldy water in direct sunlight. The goats/sheep are in a... More

I attended as a 5th grade field trip chaperone. This museum is a true gem. During our visit we were treated to extensive tours of the main building containing a Colonial one room 'home', a Victorian kitchen, and a post office as well as the blacksmith shop, letterpress printing shop and schoolhouse. Our students hammered hot steel into a hook,... More
