Bay Street which fronts the waterfront contains the usual variety of shops and restaurants. Many of the restaurants have outdoor dining areas facing the waterfront. It is well patronised by tourists and although not a large street, affords an opportunity for a pleasant outing.

I absolutely love Bay Street. The shops are awesome and the people that run them are SO friendly and welcoming. I love that you can sit outside, relax, have a drink, and eat...all while looking at the beautiful river and the boats going by!

After lunch the women wanted to look in the shop windows and found a number of excellent shops. Not the typical souvenir stores. There were also a few restaurants. One of the reasons one goes to Beaufort is to see the beautiful old southern homes....More

Parked on Bay St and walk about the area visiting the various stores in the area. Also many great places to eat and the walk along the boardwalk behind Bay St was nice.
