Lovely plantation.

Beautiful house and gardens. It would be better not in winter! However recommend the nature train and house tour. Cafe had some nice food but no indoor area.

I visited here last year and really enjoyed the experience. The grounds were expansive, so I wish I would have allowed more time for my visit. The tour of the restored home was very nice and informational and the gardens were lovely. I would definitely revisit and be sure to allow more time!!

Been back twice now, and plan to go again! It's so fun to see it in different seasons too. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Awesome gift shop, so many cool things! A lot of awesome things to see!

We've been to Magnolia at least 20 times over the years as a family tradition, and just love it. I had my wedding photos taken on a bridge there in 1993! We always learn or see something new. The grounds are gorgeous, the house holds so much history. The petting zoo is so much fun. The gift shop is outstanding,... More

On our last morning in Charleston we visited Magnolia Plantation. I wish we had more time to tour! Even though it was a cold December morning (no gator sightings 😞) it was beautiful!! Can't wait to visit again when the gardens are blooming!

They claim to have bicycle paths around the area but there are also these tour trains which stop and block the trails. In addition, I see some of the workers or perhaps the owners drive cars along the trail also.

We went to see it all but the train and boat were either full, done for the day or unavailable (I'm not really clear as to which it was). I wish we had been able to see the From Slavery to Freedom Tour but the House tour time didn't work - I would have preferred the former though. The garden... More

The house and gardens were absolutely beautiful. Visitors can easily spend hours or a full day at the plantation. I believe the only tour that was not open during the winter, was the river boat. The admission is $15 with additional payment for each of the tours. The historical video, house, and small maze are must does and the swamps... More

The plant selection, variety and history of the place make this a truly worthwhile stop. The camellia forest was in bloom in December despite the cold and was lovely on a gloomy, grey day. There are several different garden styles and habitats for lots of variety. Some roses, rhodos and the Japanese Almond were in bloom and the Nandina was... More

Atmospheric and not over-restored, with camellias in bloom and beautiful views even in January. Our house tour guide, Ric, did a great job bringing to life the family and lifestyle at the main house, and it's amazing(and unusual) that the plantation is still in the same family after many generations. You can watch a rich variety of waterfowl diving for... More
