Very few things in bloom which was extremely disappointing because we are from the north and were craving flowers in bloom. Basically this was a walk in a forest which can be dine anywhere in the country. Price was excessive.

We toured the house, the gardens and the slave quarters. There was beauty everywhere but the slave quarters. Our guide gave a wonderful presentation of what it was really like for the slaves. You could sense his passion about how horrible people were treated.

Beautiful grounds, lots to see on the nature train tour of the plantation: we saw many birds and alligators. Tour guides are informative and entertaining. If you want to see everything make sure you get there early to fit in each activity. Be aware the...More

Very large property, but unfortunately, the house itself isn't the original (previous burned) That said, our tour guide did an amazing job and really knew his stuff, so inspite of the house itself not being all that impressive, there is some amazing history to be...More

I learned a little bit more about how the slaves were treated in a dark period of American history. For example, I didn't know that slave children were forced to work once they turned 10, and that work in the fields could be dangerous for...More

This was a very nice plantation but it was so busy we had to wait several hours to see the plantation or go on tours. So we basically just got to walk the grounds... but it was a nice visit. Advice- get there early!

We arrived at 8:30 when they opened to beat the crowds and maximize our time. First took the informative home tour to learn about the many generations who’d called Magnolia home. Then wandered the many paths of gently maintained landscape. The view around every corner...More

We bought General Admission tickets and spent several hours walking around the grounds of the Magnolia Plantation. The grounds are well-maintained. Although we were too late for the azaleas to be blooming, there still were quite a few other colorful -flowers to enjoy. The peacocks...More

They can be very hard to please as you know, but we were there for over two hours before we realized it. Beautiful place with so much to see, lots of wildlife as long as you look carefully. Recommended for all ages. You won’t regret...More

We spent the morning there walking around and it was ok. We took the boat ride which was nice...saw some gators. There were other excursions as well but it became costly for a family of five so we just did the boat tour. I was...More

The boat tour was not worth the money in my opinion. You can see alligators and birds in the water if you walk around the lake for free. The swamp tour did not have a boat which is what I thought I had signed up for. The... More
