This has a lot of history behind it. It's smaller than I thought and definitely not how I imagined it would look like. There are usually people sitting on the steps especially when I had visited. Also, the market entrance is under the building.

Walk thru to enjoy the air conditioning, then leave...REMEMBER to check you parking meter, because you will get a ticket or even worse towed... Better off putting your car in a parking lot especially if you are going to walk around... That's the best I...More

This is always fun to shop in. The best time is on the weekend when they have different vendors after hours. They have also added some great food vendors.

If you cannot find what you expect from this market then you are in the wrong place. Lots of local products of high quality. Do not miss it if you travel to Charleston.

Parking is available alongside the market, If you plan to park there I highly suggest you get there very early. Otherwise there is a parking garage located off King Street which isn't too far of a walk to city market. Plus... More

It's an open air market, but I don't recall seeing any and it's not listed as being dog friendly on the Bring Fido website.
