it is a beautiful square that is large enough to accommodate a large group. After dark it seemed to get a little sketchy with some homeless folks and a few "undesirables" wandering around. We were propositioned for drugs and "anything" to make us feel better! I felt safe enough, just not comfortable.

The square is well maintained and nicely laid out for having a larger festival. The Charlestons Food and Wine Grand Tasting event is held there and this year had the best maintained area without stepping in holes or water puddles.

This is a good place to visit. It is the Old Citadel's old parade ground. Now instead of hosting cadets is hosts frisbee throwing college students from the College of Charleston. Still a great place to walk and sit. History abounds everywhere in Charleston.

Marion Square has the action whether its the local farmer's market, Christmas display, or special arts and SEWE wildlife expo, Marion has it going on. Central park in Charleston is a must. Favorite gathering to see more Charlestonian Properties.

The Charleston Food and Wine Festival takes up the majority of Marion Square for its Culinary Village. We go to this event each year and each year it continues to get better! Marion Square is the perfect location - right in the middle of downtown Charleston. It is also the perfect size for the event.

Marion Square is a 10 acre park located within Charleston’s historic district. It is named for Francis Marion, a revolutionary war hero. When we visited it looked like they were getting ready for some sort of festival. There were lots of tents on the grounds. The most noted monument in the square is the John C. Calhoun statue. Calhoun was... More
