Pick this Tour Over a Carriage Tour

I have not heard good things about the treatment of the horses on the carriage tours throughout Charleston, and I would definitely not want to support that. Those poor horses... read more

I took the tour for 19.00 senior discount. It was very nice and informative. Our guide filled the tour with so many tidbits of information I had to take notes! A great way to become acclimated to the city

We took the Gray Line tour on a Monday morning in May. We bought our tickets at the Visitor Information Center at 375 Meeting Street. When you get them there you get a $3 each discount. Our tour guide was Bill Steadman who was brilliant and extremely knowledgeable. Unfortunately the audio system was not great and the people at the... More

Terrific overview of the city. Left promptly from the visitor center. Paused for us to get out and take pictures at the Battery. The guide (Susan?) was a native Charlestonian and good give us the history of many of the homes. She took those who also bought the Fort Sumter tour directly to the ferry landing place, and was waiting... More

Our family wanted to gain an overview of the city as the first step in our vacation. I have always used Gray Line Tours. This experience was excellent. Our guide took us through the city, narrating the historic sites with background and detail. After the bus tour we also enjoyed a walking tour of the Joseph Manigault House. Our knowledgeable... I have not heard good things about the treatment of the horses on the carriage tours throughout Charleston, and I would definitely not want to support that. Those poor horses walking on the cement all day in the heat; the whole thing seems inhumane. Anyways, the Grayline Bus Tour is a MUCH better choice. Plus, buses move faster than horses,... More

In every city we visit, we always seek out Gray Line for a guided tour since we feel we won't be disappointed, Our tour guide Chris was a native of Charleston, and he gave us the low down on where to stay, eat, and see while in the area. He's very knowledgeable of the city and I feel we learned... More

Good look at historic homes with lots of information . We have been on many different city Tours and although the Charleston tour guide had lots of information he lacked the usual enthusiasm we have become accustomed to.

We always take a short history tour to get used to the city! Our guide was outstanding! We took the 9:30 history tour combo with the Fort tour after. The bus was air conditioned with large windows for pictures while sightseeing! Home history, architect design, pointing out homes to tour as well as museums to see. We stopped and got... More

Retired teacher and tour guide extraordinaire David Romein gave a super 90 minute bus tour while deftly maneuvering Charleston downtown traffic. Best bus tour I have experienced in this town after several trips
