Join a 13th generation Middleton, for a personalized local perspective. End the tour in a private garden with refreshments. Walk with a local who grew up romping the streets of the downtown peninsula. The history of the city will come alive through the bricks and mortar still standing.

We toured with Ann Middleton who was very knowledgeable of Charleston history. Ann tends to mix in liberal social commentary, which I could have done without. Overall, it was a good tour but I wouldn't do it again.

Their unique perspective as multi-generation Charleston natives was extremely interesting and insightful. We explored places both on and off the usual path around the historic district. Pace was perfect as we made our way around the streets and through quaint alleys. Highly recommend.

I can't imagine a better tour guide than Anne - she's incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Charleston, but what makes it so special is her personal stories of her experience growing up in the city.

As a 13th-generation Charlestonian and archaeologist, our guide Martha was extremely knowledgeable about the city's history. The tour was a fascinating look at how the city has evolved from colonial times to the present day.

We joined Martha on an unseasonably warm fall day. The tour covered many topics, where some guides only focus one aspect that interests them. Her personal insights - growing up in the historic neighborhood and witnessing the recent changes in the city - made a...More

I am certainly a dog lover, and I don't mind. However, people on tour may be a little nervous around dogs. Please be sure to have the dog on a leash, bring water, and try to be curtious of others. Thanks, Anne

Yes, all year round. December and January can be slow around the holidays. We'd love to see you then! Anne
