The story of Christophe Artisan Chocolatier-Patissier is, above all else, a story of love. A story that, at its core, is about one man's love for sharing his creations with others and his dedication to his French origins.

Christophe Paume is the rarest of artisans, a third-generation French chocolatier, who grew up in his father's patisserie in Toulouse, France. Alongside his father, he learned to create exquisite French pastry, the highest quality chocolates, succulent gelato, and every type of bread imaginable.

After attending the CFA de Muret, Christophe moved to Paris and worked at Entremet de France, refining his hand-painted, one-of-a-kind creations of dark, white, and milk chocolate ganache and chocolate truffles. For the next ten years, he continued to work in the family business and traveled to Montreal to work at Patisserie de Gascogne. He also achieved his Brevet de Maitrise, Master in Pastry.

While it was his passion for fine chocolate that brought him to the United States, it was love that kept him here. In 2009, he married Carly, a sales rep for the same chocolate company he worked for, and they formed Christophe Artisan Chocolatier-Patissier.

This little out of the way place makes the best chocolates, croissants, and pastries that you will ever experience. My wife and I always have breakfast here whenever we visit Charleston. The croissants are to die for and the tarts are equally delicious. They serve coffee and other beverages and if you are in a hurry, they have ready made... More

This is a pretty place with beautiful chocolates. The chocolates are all different colors. I enjoyed everything that I had. That being said I found all the bon bons to be a bit too sweet for my taste. Hence 4 stars not 5. I cannot include these among my top chocolates for that reason. Pastries looked great but i had... We stop here every time we are in Charleston. Best chocolate in the world. You can hear the harps playing when you walk in. Shea and Lindsey were helping us. They were so very pleasant and knowledgable and helpful. Very hard to make a decision because everything is so beautiful and inviting. I brought back an assortment of chocolates for... More

If you are looking for outstanding sweets - GO TO CHRISTOPHE's The selection is wonderful and an added plus is they offer a variety of beverages. We enjoyed sitting in their back patio eating our treats and sipping on our drinks. A relaxing break from our busy tourist schedule

The chocolates are as visually stunning as they are decadent. They are hand painted. The flavors are robust without being too strong. There are some creative ones that we enjoyed such as the Earl Grey tea flavored one. We thought the lemon zest reminded us of Key Lime pie. Definitely worth the trip if you remotely enjoy chocolate.

I love a good croissant so I made it a priority to seek out the best one I could find while in Charleston. I saw the great reviews that Christophe received, especially for the almond croissant, that I had to try one. I totally agree it is the best I ever tasted! It was wonderfully flaky and almondy without being... More

Looking for a "real" chocolatier-Patissier? Not someone that sells pralines, but sells real chocolate? Then you need to find this place! Came here on a food tour and fell in love with the place. I purchased a pecan tart and a key lime tart and they were both amazing! The key lime tart had real meringue on top and almost... More
