I have done several excursions with Coastal Expeditions and, to put it simply, they're fantastic. Today, I did a Folly Creek Kayak tour and it was beautiful, fun and a wonderful way to experience and learn about the birds, plants, dolphins and other creatures that inhabit this serene estuary. Our guide, Dallas, is a knowledgeable naturalist and expert kayacker. Whether... More

We enjoyed our birding trip with the Charleston Natural History Society on Bulls Island today. Captain Wil and and First Mate Nick were fabulous. These guys went out of their way to make our journey successful. Coastal Expeditions is a class act and I couldn't give a more enthusiastic endorsement of the services provided. If you are thinking about a... More

As a native and local, have taken many tours with Coastal over the years (yes, they've been around for a long time). They know so much about the area and the water and nature Charleston. They are super helpful and professional without being fussy or stuffy! I highly recommend getting out on the water with them.

We have rented kayaks here in groups on two different occasions and both were a great experience. The staff are not only really friendly and helpful, but they're super knowledgeable and you'll get a walk-through of everything you need to know. The kayaks and associated equipment are in excellent condition and are very stable for beginners and experienced kayakers alike.... More

We went for a canoe trip last year in august and we really enjoyed it! I forgot the name of our guide unfortunately, he was excellent! Young guy but such profound knowledge of the eco system and birds. His enthusiasm was what won me over!

What a treat, I love shelling but living in a landlocked city, I don't get o the beach often. So I was very happy with the terrific beach combing on Bull Island, the boat ride was mellow with a pretty view and came with a helpful and informative crew. I really liked the table of bones and natural artifacts, so... More

The Coastal Expeditions crew were professional, polite, informative and possessing of great sense of humor. The 30 minute ferry ride to Bulls Island offered beautiful views of the surrounding area and set the stage for... More

If you only get to do one excursion while in the Carolina low country this is the one to do. Also, after using Coastal Expeditions for guided trips in the past and for this trip, they are the only company I would recommend for this area. They are knowledgeable, professional, and are impeccably safe. They have always gone above and... More

Our last trip to Bull's Island was about 35 years ago when we had to make arrangements with a private boat to take us out. It was as we remembered - beautiful, remote, deserted. and quiet. On this January day, sunny but breezy and a bit of a chill, we walked for miles and were most impressed with the Boneyard.... More
