Simple, interesting

Nice, but nothing fancy. Simple southern charm. Good hiking trials. Cute store. Looks like it's made for school children's learning.

Love taking our dog here for walks. Easy walk with history and river side. Have seen fish jumping and deer running. Beautiful place

We stopped here to break up the journey between Hendersonville NC and Columbia. The walk through the woods was lovely and ended at a lake, so still it was like a mirror. The visitor centre was manned by a lovely lady ranger; who told us some of the history. She also let us handle a Brown Bess rifle and try... More

This is a beautiful location but the falls were ruined by families who basically spread out all over them like it was the beach. Couldn't take any pictures of the falls because they were covered in kids. The falls are nice, though. The trails weren't difficult, and most of the trail is covered by trees so it's not too hot.... My wife and I had a wonderful time at the historic guided lantern tour. A park ranger took us on a large loop trail to several spots where some wonderful revolutionary war re-enactors gave us a history lesson on the famous battle site. It was very well done. The park is beautiful and very well managed.

This was our first of two state park sites the day we visited (the other being Rose Hill Plantation). Now, we're not usually much for military sites. I mean, a battlefield is just a field that happened to once have a skirmish on it. But this facility is very nice. The building is very new and the trail was excellent.... More

This is a fantastic state park just full history from the US Revolutionary War era. The trails are easily accessible and are splendid and natural with minimal descriptive signing. You are really taken back 235 years in time to see how the opposing sides matched forces in the South Carolina backcountry. This is a great site for children too! Dawn... More

This is such a great place to see an area where you know a battle was fought right here for our freedom. They have battle reenactments occasionally and have colonial life set up to view how people lived during this era. The river is beautiful and they have an area to have picnics.

We were there just before the hurricane. The park rangers were wonderful. They explained the battlefield and answered our many questions. There were souvenirs you can buy, and we did. It was raining so we didn't walk the trails. The park building was rustic on the outside but AC and modern inside.. Everything was well kept. We saw the falls... More
