Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is home to nearly 2,000 animals that represent more than 350 species from around the world. A visit to the Zoo will play host to an array of wild adventures from a diving expedition on a Pacific coral reef to a safari through the plains of Africa to an interactive Outback encounter with a flock of sociable lorikeets.

The Botanical Garden boasts 70-acres of unparalleled beauty and is considered one of the America's best public gardens. Dramatic and themed gardens showcase more than 4,300 species of native and exotic plants, providing a living classroom for gardeners and non-gardeners alike.

The Garden also is the gateway to natural river views and spectacular valley overlooks. In addition, guests can view structural remains dating back to the early 1800s with South Carolina's textile industry and the Civil War.

This zoo is just the right size for a few hours with children. Easy to get around, easy to see everything . A few kids attractions cost extra, but not alot more. We did the carousel and the kids did the rock climbing wall .The train just goes in a tiny circle forests than 5 minutes. Suitable for very small children.

One of my 15 year old grandson's favorite places, Riverbanks is always wonderful. Remodeling is fantastic. The sea lions exhibit is so well done. Look forward to a return trip soon.

My kids had a good time, but most of the animals were sleeping or hiding. It was a chilly day, so I think they were just keeping warm. If you go this time of year, I would wait until mid afternoon. The penguin show was really cute. Drinks are $4-5. Ice cream on a cone was over $4. You don't... More

Fantastic value for a family of four. Definitely buy your tickets online before you go and get there early. We did 6 hours there and could have stayed. Tuskersmfor kunch was a surprise value and a solid chicken sandwich.

Nice size zoo, well kept. Parking is free so don't expect much of it. Lots of exhibits, nice little aquarium.

I love that is is not too big and there are many varieties of animals to see. Prices in the gift shop are beyond ridiculous. They don't have camels. These two things are all that kept me from giving an excellent rating.

Children (young and old) have fun seeing the lights, meeting Santa, and making smores. This is a wonderful experience to enjoy with your children and grandchildren.

We went this summer and I was a little doubtful but needed a get away and was Very pleased with the upgrades. Would definitely recommend this park to everyone - especially locals who don't want the drive, price and crowds of the Atlanta zoo.

We visited the zoo for several hours before we headed off to a wedding and we had a ball! I fed giraffes and lorikeets and saw tons of animals. The aquarium was great, there were so many activities for children and the botanical gardens were spectacular. Definitely worth the time and price. It was so much fun and it made... More
