This renovated old building is a charmer and absolutely the best civil war exhibit we have seen. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. We were pressed for time and could have spent all day at this home run of a museum.

The S.C. State Museum has really improved over the past few years. Great exhibits! The current art exhibition is worth seeing all by itself. The planetarium is awe inspiring. This is something S.C. is doing very well.

Very interesting museum. I learned a lot about South Carolina History. Maker sure to go on a sunny day so you can view the sun from the observatory.

The museum has a lot to offer--natural history, cultural history, and science exhibits. I especially enjoyed the optical illusion exhibits--they were great! The planetarium show was very interesting as well. The cost is fairly cheap as well.

There is a package that we got when went that included the main museums and attractions. I seem to remember that if you wanted to see more than 3 of the offered attractions the package became worthwhile.
