Five Points is essentially a run down, dilapidated bunch of bars, a few stores of no consequence, and some average restaurants. It's a gathering spot for USC kids where underage drinking is prevalent, fighting in the streets, and parking is difficult. A few years ago...More

Don't think of this as anything other than what it is -- a shopping and dining district. If you're thinking that it's got really nice fountains... or that it's maybe a park-like setting... then you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Yes, there are some fountains....More

while visiting the area around USC we came across five points. There are mostly second rate eatery's and watering holes. This matches most of Columbia; old rundown, dirty and dumpy - oh yes did I mention the numerous homeless that roam the city streets and...More

There seems to be a lot of hype to visit this party of the city, but I found the west side past the capital building much nicer, and way less run down. Additionally, the west side of the capital was way nicer, with lovely places...More

If you look past the college dives (University of South Carolina is next to it) and bars pushing Bud Light and shots of cheap liquor, there are some quaint shops and restaurants to explore. Delaney's Irish Pub might be one to skip. Arriving at 9:55...More

My wife and I love walking around this section of town. Has great restaurants and the shopping is off the charts.

Lots of nice, upscale shops open during the day. The college crowd is pretty obnoxious at night. Skaters are everywhere.

A fun filled area where there is always something going on. Adults enjoy the many taverns and eateries during the day. The college crowd takes over at night and it can get crazy late in the night. So it has something for everyone lol

Restaurant and bar area catering to the adult lunch crowd during the day and college/suburban teenage crowd after dark. Mix of restaurants from semi-fine dining to hot dogs. Will satisfy most beer drinkers looking for microbrews.
