We stayed here previous to Hurricane Matthew. We stayed in our travel trailer in the wooded section off the beach. We loved walking out into the marsh area at low tide to see hundreds of fiddler crabs and other wildlife. Really a cool experience! This...More

The State Park is just a basic park. The beach area is really nice...not as crowded as most beaches. Bathrooms if you have kids ... and are on the beach all day. The beach has been restored after the hurricane. So there are not as...More

We live and play in the Lowcountry and this is our 2nd favorite beach. I wish parking was a bit more shaded, I wish there was a concrete walkway leading up to the beach to make access better, I wish there were showers up and...More

The beach at Edisto State Park is a very basic beach. The facilities are not particularly clean. There is no snack bar or shop. I would consider this just a rustic beach. If that is what you are in to the upside is it isn't...More

We made a spur of the moment trip to the beach and chose Edisto. The park is very nice. Plenty of parking. The beach itself was ok.(We are used to Florida beaches.) It was quiet and not very crowded. There is a bit of a...More

Nothing special on this State Park including the camp grounds. No sewer hook up, water taste funny but it is safe to drink. Showers are weirdly designed, and do not properly function. And the most ferocious mosquitos.... A disappointment because the area and the beach...More

This was my favorite beach ever. Great for families. Not crowded or noisy. We were there on a beautiful sunny day, with a very pleasant breeze. Clean and quiet. Lots of space to spread out.Take a picnic and a good book. You're all set.

Beautiful undisterbed beach where sand dollars, and other shells can still be found. They have two sand wheel chairs which can be borrowed to take a disabled person down to the water. There is a shady picnic area with many tables, a pavillion where you...More

The state park, like all of the beach at Edisto, is pristine. The staff at the front gate were very friendly and welcoming. The bathrooms/changing rooms are a little old and could use some updating but are certainly serviceable. The Environmental Learning Center is wonderful!...More

Edisto Beach charges out of state people $809.08 for 2 weeks of camping. We found this campground a few years ago through the New York Times travel section when they were trying to get people to come there for camping. The price was reasonable. They...More

There are two different Edisto State Parks. One by the beach & one a couple mile off the beach, on the marsh side. Go to their website or call 843-869-2156 9-5. Book early the cabins sell out fast!

Note: there are two state park campgrounds, one in the marsh and shady, the other across the road on the beach and sunny.
