Best remote beach

Not a lot going on over here. Not really a sitting beach. More of an explorative beach. Good for a date or to take the kids but not to go in. Rip tides.

Great walking beach. Not good for swimming, but great for sunbathing and walking. Don't get stuck in the plough mud up to your shins like I did!!! Fun experience, but that was a bit scary.

We went to this less travelled beach to explore a piece of Hilton Head's history, and were glad we did. A lovely quiet hike out to the waterfront, accompanied by several species of birds (and a few bugs - take the spray!), kids had fun watching the antics of hundreds of hermit crabs, and a good history read. A fun... More

Not crowded at all. Low tide was fun. Very peaceful. A lot of space. Find a bunch of things during low tide

This is sort of a hidden gem of a place. I saw it while on the Gullah Tour(which was awesome!). A very historical place and definite must-see. It is a beautiful place to walk around while getting an understanding and appreciation of history.

While staying in Hilton Head, we made a quick stop here. We all loved it! It was a nice area, clean, and a very natural area to explore. The kids loved seeing all the shells and jelly fish that had washed up.

Visited beach 3 times while on vacation, It's off the beaten path but well worth the visit. Great for shelling, laying on a towel or walking. Couldn't believe all of the fiddler crabs hiding near the grass. The beach wasn't very busy so there was plenty of room to walk and look around.

Happened upon the park by accident. Went in, walked around a bit and picked up some historical tidbits. Beautiful grounds and not extremely time consuming.

The beach here is excellent and it's not crowded like the other beaches, especially Coligny. And there are lots of birds here for the birdwatcher, naturalist and photographer. Skimmers, gulls, sandpipers, godwits, eagles, pelicans, cormorants, terns, dolphins. And the upland portion of the park has a nice boardwalk through a marsh and shrubland where warblers, wrens, vireos, cardinal, ibises, herons,... More
