We love lighthouses and were eager to see the Governor's Lighthouse. This small lighthouse is located in a private community (Lighteeper's Village), sits on the Little River and is dedicated to past South Carolina Governors. The grounds are open but the tower is closed - we parked at the Officers Club & walked along the boardwalk to view the lighthouse.

Viewable from the ICW or by a short walk thru the marina to the lighthouse which is along the marina walkway.

This lighthouse has no roadside markers and is on private property as part of the condo and apartment complex community center. No public admission allowed. We drove through the front gate and walked around on a Sunday afternoon in late November unnoticed. Would assume that would not be possible when residents are more active and outdoors. Disappointing as this is... More

As a resident of Lightkeepers Point I enjoy walking the Boardwalk daily and can view the Lighthouse from my deck. We are pleased that people want to visit and use the photo op the lighthouse affords. Please remember that this is a private community and that parking is limited and for residents and their guests only identified by parking decals.... More

Unfortunately it was raining the day we visited. It was just a stop and take a quick picture of the lighthouse.

This cute lighthouse is located on Coquina Harbor. Jet Skies can be rented onn the premises. No one mans the lighthouse and it is rarely open for viewing. It does give youngsters a relative view on how high lighthouses can be. It sits in the midst of a condominium development so parking is hard to find.

We docked for a few nights and ended up staying longer. Nice views, friendly staff and locals, lots to do and see. Myrtle Beach is a short hop with beaches, shopping, nightlife, really whatever you choose. Medical facilities, fitness and veterinarians nearby. Facilities at the marina are quality and inexpensive laundry. We like it, and Resonably priced.

We take walks around the marina where this lighthouse is located. It is a nice touch when you are traveling the intracoastal waterway, but don't waste your time visiting it. It is more for aesthetic affects.

Like all the other reviews state: This is a decoration, situated in the middle of a private community. It's not functional, and I'm fairly certain you can't even get inside it. It's just a neat thing to see if you're boating down the intracoastal waterway. This should not be listed as an "attraction" no more than a billboard should be... More
