This is one of our favorite things to do in this area of South Carolina. This is a boat tour of Lake Jocassee, filled with sight-seeing opportunities that include waterfalls, seasonal blossoms, birds and even a couple of stops for exploring. Our guide gives historical information on this beautiful lake, takes you into places most people will never see, explains... More

Lake Jocassee is beautiful this time of year as it gets ready for its long winter snooze. The leaves are exquisite in hues of yello, orange and red. They seem to glow as a last hurrah of the fall gently sliding into winters' chill. Our guide, Rick, was obviously in love with the lake and the wonders it revealed to... More

This lake is so gorgeous, waterfalls the flow right into the lake. Water is clear, but cold. Our guide is a Master Naturalist. He knows this lake backwards and forwards and is passionate about it. We will be back to take the tours in different seasons and to see different parts of the lake. There is just too much to... More

Our adult siblings thoroughly enjoyed our four hour trip on the eastern part of the lake. Rick, our guide, was informative and also humorous with his stories as we meandered up different rivers. Waterfalls were a bit low due to recent drought, and the leaves were just beginning their fall change. We will definitely return to enjoy this serene, peaceful... More

A beautiful end-of-October day on Lake Jocassee located in Salem, SC. I guess it's because I lived most of my life in the Northeast with thousands of natural lakes that I find it difficult to believe a man-made lake can be so beautiful and so much a part of the wilderness. Our guide, Kay, is extremely knowledgeable in geology and... More

Each cruise is led by a Master Naturalist who not only provide a history of the lake and its formation, but also information on many plants, birds, and geological formations. We've been on the tour in March, September, and October. With the changing weather and seasons, each tour is basically the same, but different as the wildlife and shoreline change.... More

This was a great morning on the lake. Oct.12 was too early for much fall color, but the scenery is still awesome. Bring along warmer clothes than you think you'll need and something to eat and drink. Book in advance if possible. Well worth the cost.

Sam Jones is a wonderful tour guide. His 3 hour tour of the waterfalls was perfect for our photography group. He knows his way around the lake. He was very patient and even allowed us to get off the boat in order to obtain some otherwise impossible shots. We enjoyed our afternoon with Jocassee Charters and highly recommend Sam.

Took a 3 hour tour of Lake Jocassee and really enjoyed it. Beautiful lake, Brooke was an outstanding guide very informative and friendly. Fun for everyone regardless of age. Hope to go back at a different time of the year to see more of the lake.
