Very disappointed in our captain Will Frederick and the communication with the marina. We specially booked a nearshore fishing trip through the marina. Upon arriving on his boat - Will asked if we booked inshore or nearshore. We specifically booked a nearshore as my boys are well equipped to handle inshore fishing by themselves. Will took us out to try the ocean and it was very apparent due to conditions and his type of boat and the fishing rods that were rigged. We were set up for inshore not nearshore fishing. Literally a bait and switch. The marina should have called the night before and rescheduled for another day for nearshore given the Captains boat restrictions and the conditions of the waters. We were never informed or given the opportunity to make this decision and reschedule. I never would have booked inshore fishing trip and ended up being told while on water that we had to head inshore. It is apparent that they are just trying to schedule any trip and not at all concerned for the sport of fishing. Do your research and find a captain that knows the waters and fishing. Do not book through a marina but direct from a captain.…

We thank you for your candid feedback regarding your recent charter here at the marina. While it is clear you were not happy with your experience, we respectfully disagree with your assumptions regarding our business practices and the captain’s fishing gear and boat capabilities. The unpredictability of sea conditions can require captains to alter a charter the day of, and occasionally in real time. We are always looking to improve our business and our clients’ experiences on the water. Per our discussion with you following your charter, we’ll take your feedback and concerns into consideration and continuously work to refine our charter service. We hope your recent experience does not prevent you from considering a charter with us in the future.

We stayed near the Marina and enjoyed watching the boats sail away each day. Our VRBO Villa was right on the boardwalk, so walking to the Marina and shops was very close. The daily sunsets were extremely beautiful, because there were no trees to obstruct the view to the west. For a relaxing vacation spot, staying near the Marina is a sure bet.…

Easy, inexpensive boating from Bohicket. Take a boat out to watch dolphins and enjoy sunny ride out to the Edisto River from Bohicket creek. Lots to see and do, plus stock up on snacks at the market.
