It was a beautiful park. Roads need some work. Camping with a big rig would be a problem. Tight getting in and out.

My husband and I have come here for the last 2 years. Last year for our honeymoon, and this year for our 1year anniversary. And this is officially our spot. We rented a cabin both times and it was perfect. Had everything we needed and also was quiet and private. Our phones didn't have service so it was a great... More

Rented a cabin for a night. Walked some trails, made a fire and enjoyed our night. Quiet and peaceful.

We stayed in the cabins at Poinsett while visiting Congaree National Park; the cabins were clean and comfortable and just perfect (family of 4 in one, grandparents in another). Get groceries at Sumter (there is nowhere else closer). We rented paddleboards and had a great time learning to use them on the mill pond, even after a small alligator swam... More

I took the kids here for the afternoon. We packed a picnic bag and planned on doing some hiking. I lost my cellphone signal right before we reached the park. There will be a sign for the park when you get to the road. Admission is free and they stay open from 9am until dusk. Once in the park we... More

We drove to this park today from Leesville to check it out for future camping. We rode thru the campground and also spoke with a ranger trainee. The deer flies surrounded our truck as we drove thru. The website mentioned being aware of alligators in the pond,so we were shocked to see small children swimming. There was a roped off area, but I dont think... Visited here the weekend of 20-22 May 2016. We rented site #6 and had a great time. It had power and water. The trees made a great canopy for shade and kept the rain off of us the first night. We had enough room to place two tents and two vehicles on the site. We visited the pond for some... More

We stayed at this state park while doing the Iris Festival in Sumter. Sites are level and clean, although not paved. It is a rustic setting with water and electric sites. No sewer hookup. Have stayed here a couple of times before and will stay here again.

We visited this park and rented a paddle boat and went fishing. The little pond is nice. I don't think I would swim but for fishing and paddling then its fine. We enjoyed some great family time and the good weather. We visited the camping area but only rode through there. It's too bad the old mill and part of... More
