Well done

Enjoyed this museum with its historic exhibits. It was well displayed and not cluttered. Even though we are not from the area it was nice to see the antiques from past generations,

You should definitely go to the center of the country monument and while they are at why not stop by the museum which is right next to the monument? It's a nice collection of 19th-century items and clothing worn by cowboys and cowgirls. Not real exciting but the docents are nice and willing to talk to you about anything there.... More

We were looking for the center of the US and found it at this museum. It is located on the grounds of the museum down by the creek. The monument was very nice. All the state flags were there. Beautifully kept. The museum and other buildings had lots of cowboy memorabilia from the area. They also had a log house... More

This is a very well done local museum with great exhibits and fantastic historical collections of nineteenth century memorabilia. The stories a documented with many photos, items of clothing, fire arms, furniture and the like. This affords a great glance into another era. These folks have created something very special.

People who worked there were very nice, and staff have obviously put a fair bit of effort into sharing local history. But I think for someone with limited vacation time, there are many more compelling sites in this corner of S. Dakota. Overall, the museum feels a bit like lots of people cleaned out their attics and/or donated personal collections.... More

The museum is next to the Centre of the Nation Monument and while it may be small it is jam packed full of exhibits and information about the local area and the part locals played in national events. It is free to get in, the staff are very enthusiastic about their role and the gift shop has some interesting stuff.

We stopped back by on our way back from Devils tower and I must say this is worth the stop, this museum is free. The workers are very nice and enjoyable to visit with, lots of old antique stuff to look at, also have a gift shop. Highly recommend stopping for a visit
