We took a side trip on the way to Juliana airport to visit this Historical church in Lampa. A highlight was the copy of the plaster statue of "La Pieta" by Michelangelo, specially brought in from the Vatican. With a side trip.

Our guide suggested stopping here on the way to the airport. What a charming city with a beautiful church and a fascinating museum in the municipal center. Really unspoiled with no tourist facilities, just an incredible city/village that is absolutely authentic.

We've seen a lot of cathedrals in our travels, but this one was very different and spectacular... not only in the archetecture, but also in the way they worship and the way that beliefs syncronize.
