We unfortunately didn't have the informative tour guides as others posted. Ours was a young girl who was very scripted, told not so funny jokes, and couldn't answer all of the questions that were asked. The helmets that they have you wear didn't look like...More

We knew nothing of Deadwood when we arrived. The friendly lady at the information booth recommended this to us. It is at the far end of town, not very well signed, and the sidewalk disappears when walking there. The tour itself is about 30 mins,...More

We were expecting a cheesy tourist trap but actually enjoyed the tour and were impressed with the tour leader. Tour is only a 1/2 hour long so perfect for kids. While the cost for panning gold is a little high our 6 and 11 year...More

Thanks to our guide Thomas, this was a very fun and informative tour in an old goldmine. The gold panning afterwards was fun for the children, loved the gold the got out of it.

My daughters had a good time. Our tour guide Marissa was good but nothing spectacular. Fairly short, about half an hour. Some interesting history.

It was neat to see a local mine in Deadwood/Leed. It is small and alot of it has collapsed into itself so what was previously able to be viewed is now gone. Still a neat attraction if you are into history. The difference between this...More

We came to Deadwood on the final night of our Black Hills vacation and my 5 and 8 year old had still not managed to pan for gold yet, something they both desperately wanted to do. We are driving to the mine and my wife...More

This was a fun little stop during our time in Deadwood. The staff is friendly and it is easy to find. The price is right at just $5 and the tour is only 45 minutes so it doesn't take your whole day. It was interesting...More

The whole cost for the tour and gold panning should be less then $15 per person depending upon the age. It is a really I expensive side trip.

Wheelchairs have gone through the mine. The first door is too small to accommodate but you can carry the chair up the stairs and fold it through the doorway and it will fit through the mine.
