Nice casino

We spent our majority of time here. Drinks are comp'd if gambling. Plenty of machines and table. Was one of the busier casinos in Deadwood.

On a Saturday the place was packed enough to justify having 2 craps tables (they only have 1) but there was no way I was going to get a place for a while and on Sunday, while not crowded, it certainly wasnt dead. We were looking forward to playing craps at one of the few casinos that offers it but... More

We stopped in the Silverado a couple times during our stay in Deadwood. We had the buffet (it was okay, needed a little more variety) and I played some slots. We also hung out outside and watched a gun fight reenactment. The best luck I had on a slot machine was the penny Flintstones machine.

People at the Silverado are very appreciative and are always making sure your drinks are full. I highly recommend the Friday and Saturday all you can eat Prime Rib and Crab

The Buffet is pretty good. About $17 a person. The Prime Rib was good and they had many choices. Not as big as some buffets but the only one we could find.

This casino seemed to be one of the larger ones in Deadwood. It also seemed to have a newer feel to it. Most of the establishments in Deadwood have a very older, historic feel to them. Walking in here we felt like we had stepped back into the present day!

Owned by Kevin Costner and it shows! Costumes and props from his movies have been used to decorate the casino and restaurant! Good place for a lunch or dinner. WE had the chicken salad and it was very tasty!

The Casinos in Deadwood are small compared to Vegas or the Mississippi coast, but clean, pretty well-maintained. I felt very safe walking around. Staff is friendly, outgoing, if perhaps a little raw. Cocktail waitresses were prompt. Maybe not a place to spend a week, but for a day trip stop while driving around the Black Hills, worth the stop.

Silverado is one of the 3 Deadwood casinos that offers craps. I played there several nights while vacationing in Deadwood and found the dealers to be very friendly and helpful. Also several BJ and and 3 card poker tables. Easy walk from any of the Historic District Hotels.

The only reason I like going into this historic hotel is to photograph the ceiling - the chandeliers and gold make for some interesting photographs. We are not gamblers, only ended up in Deadwood since some in our group hadn't been here before. I do like the history and this is an interesting building.
