Not much to see

What you see in pictures is what you get. It was nice to get out of the car and stretch our legs but wasn't worth much else. At least it was free.

What a great tourist attraction! The artwork on the outside is fantastic. They have added LED lighting to the outside so at night it really very impressive. If you are in town make sure you stop by and admire this attraction. Mitchell is great place to visit on your way out to the badlands or Sturgis. The people are so... More

We were on our way to the Black Hills and made a nice little stop here at the Corn Palace. The outside is amazing to look at all the artwork done with corn and grains. The inside has interesting displays showing the history of the building and how the decoration is done. There was a basketball tournament the day we... More

This is a gem found in South Dakota. Inside there are previous years designs in pictures. Our grandchildren also enjoyed it. There were vendors inside with original crafts for sale.

We stopped by the corn palace on our way out of town after spending the night in Mitchell. We arrived late and didn't have time the night before. We went early on a Sunday morning and there were very few people around, which was nice and the palace looked like it glistened with the sun rising behind it. We just... More

If you're ever driving from Mt Rushmore to Ames, IA this is the perfect place to stop as it's equidistant between the two points. We looked at the corn mosaics, checked out the corn themed gift shop and ate some corn. I presume it also is a nice stop off while driving from Ames to Mt Rushmore but couldn't be... More

Was not able to go inside as it was closed early in the morning. But the outside was impressive. Not something you see everyday.

The outside murals changes every year with a different scene. They are all done with different shades of corn. The inside is an auditorium. The history of the building is described and shown along the hallway walls. Fun visit to see the different art forms of corn. Make sure to get a popcorn ball!

A quirky history of corn all under one roof, plenty to see and read if you're into corn in all its shapes, colours and varieties. Something a little different and possibly not for everyone. If you like unusual stuff like this you'll be right at home.

This is a very cool place to visit. Yes, it's mainly a tourist trap... the corn part of it is, anyway. Nonetheless, you get to drive through downtown Mitchell, which has a very nice small-town feel. If you're in the area, definitely check out the corn palace.
