The main street was dug up and being repaired so we decided to visit the museum for an off season view of the yearly event. So many motorcycles, lots of history, pictures through the years, a video of the area, great collection of bikes and all in great condition. They have a photo section of the women of Sturgis and... Comprehensive collection of motorcycle memorabilia and artifacts. Covers almost every type of bike you can think of (though Harleys dominate). We had to be in Sturgis for sad reasons (death of a loved one), but this museum really cheered us up, and the folks running the place were very friendly and informative. Bought fun souvenirs, and enjoyed reading the inscriptions... More

This is a small cram packed museum with motorcycles spanning a long history. Mostly American bikes and a few European, English and Japanese..but no Yamaha's!!!! Two floors of great displays and informative facts. The bikes are really interesting and displayed well. The lady on duty was nice and helpful. The entrance fee was very reasonable. Easy to find just past... More

My husband owned a road bike as well as a dirt bike in his younger years, and Sturgis was on his bucket list of stops on our road trip through the Dakotas. After a quick stop at the visitor center, we decided to visit the Museum and Hall of Fame. Although I'm not a motorcycle person, I enjoyed seeing the... More

This museum is a capsule of motorcycling from the very early days to the present. They have sections dealing with everything from one of a kind gold plated motorcycles to Cushman scooters. On the lower level, you will see some of the great female cyclists complete with their personal histories.

It's a small museum for the fee they charge, they were able to give me AAA discount. Went through the entire museum in about 30 minutes. We were able to see some unique and antique motorcycles.

This a great destination when in the Black Hills if you love motorcycles and the history of the machines. There are some wonderful displays of a variety of motorcycles. For those of you who remember the slogan "you meet the nicest people on a Honda," they have a Honda Dream. There is a lady riders hall of fame too.

Visited the museum in Sturgis a couple of weeks after seeing the Harley and the Davidson's mini-series. Was very helpful in framing all the bikes, especially the earlier models on display. I don't ride but am interested in vehicles of all kinds. The display info was informative. Wished there was more interactive areas or video sections - 90% bikes. Didn't... More
