Our ranger was a young female, very smart, passionate about Grasslands. She talked for half an hour about the different grasslands sites, how to use them, what kind of wildlife, fossils they had etc. She walked my wife thru a book on hawks to identify one my wife saw, and talked enthusiastically about western magpies. We talked to her before... More

This is definitely worth a stop after you walk through Wall Drugs craziness. A nice visitor center for the National Grasslands.

Staff was very personable, helpful, and friendly. They were the first ones in a national park to call attention to a senior pass that can be used at all national parks for a one-time fee! Loved the visitor center and the area around it!

We visited the center while visiting Wall and came away with knowledge and appreciation for the grasslands, not only in that area but other locations as well. Highly recommend the center to all visiting the area.

Everything you wanted to know about grasslands but were afraid to ask! Forest service facility with lots of history and info for those in the know. Something different and out of the ordinary.

Frankly I only stopped in because to kill some time and let the rainstorm pass by. I was really delighted to see all the info this place provided about the grasslands in this country. There are quite a number of National Grasslands and this is the visitor's center for them though it's closest to the Buffalo Gap Grasslands just south... More

While driving around Wall, SD we spotted this visitor's center and had to stop and get a passport book stamp. What we found instead of just a stamp was an energetic staff that wanted to show us their reclaimed mini-grassland and... More
