Beautiful Views and Loads of History

You can't beat the views from up here and do yourself a favor and come up on the incline railway. Combined they make for an awesome experience.

We visited Point Park as part of a day trip to Chattanooga. The view from the overlook is interesting, but I think we missed the best part of this area. Point Park is in a neighborhood at the top of the mountain; we were expecting something more remote. Would definitely do it again but spend more time exploring the area.

We tend to go to Chattanooga a lot and we pretty much always go to lookout mountain. It's worth atleast driving up and checking out the houses. You can walk around up there too. I recommend this to anyone!

Cool drive up (or take the incline train), nice park with historical markers and absolutely fantastic views. Inexpensive, too. A must visit location.

Rock City on Lookout Mountains is a must visit. It offers awesome view from the top. Do visit a spot from where you can get a panoramic view of seven states.

We went to see the lights, it was an amazing experience. Because you have all the lights and the view. The lights outside where good, not spectacular. The lights in the caves where amazing and beautiful. Non the les the view outside is amazing.

We took the Incline Railway to Lookout Mountain which was a terrific experience but not without trepidation! The railway runs every 30 minutes. The summit was amazing with views for miles. We visited Point Park, the site of a civil war battle, which was very interesting, the staff in the visitor centre were most helpful and there was lots of information... More

I wasn't sure what I would think about Lookout mountain before I went. I am a Civil War student and have read literally dozens of books and visited many battlefields. I knew from pre-trip research that Lookout Mt. is touristy area and built up with houses. I have to say that none of that detracted from the experience of visiting... More

We absolutely enjoyed the visit there! We went to Ruby Falls before going to Lookout Mtn and we loved it so much! What a view! Everywhere we went was really really pretty. There was a little bit of everything, caverns, outdoor, bridges, waterfalls and gnomes! I wished we could have spent more time there. Great place to take the family.
