We like finding new places to hike with our dog when in the area. We did four miles up the mountain and the right leg of the crest trail. Very strenuous and worthwhile. We will do it again on another visit and do the left...More

The spot to go hiking in the Knoxville area. It's super close, and not a long hike at all. However, the trails are really worn and will be crowded when the weather is nice. Be kind to the trails, people!

Make a day of it! Moderate climb in a beautiful location. Worth the drive away from the rat race of life.

This is where the neighborhood hikes most of the time. There are both long and short trails all over the mountain; some people bring their dogs, but not many.

I didn't expect all the rock climbing. You could not take your eyes off the trail less you fall. I found it not to enjoyable due to the danger aspect. We did it but would not to it again.

House Mountain is a wonderful resource for our area, great views of the surrounding areas. The hiking is good, fairly steep and rocky.

We drove up for the afternoon. The roads leading to the parking area were a little creepy. I'm sure the place is fine and it is a beautiful location, but we did not stay long.

It depends on your skill level and what shape you are in, but maybe 3 hours without stopping too much around the entire loop. That's assuming you choose to go up one path, cross the ridge, and come down the other path. If... More

Yes it does have steep drop offs, it's a very challenging hike, one of the hardest I have hiked.
