Nice visit, was given a outline to read as I went from building to building which let me set my pace. I was impressed that 2 of the original buildings were still standing after all these years with a lot of original furnishings.

Fort??? Not sure why we had to pay $7 for each adult and $5 for kids. It may have taken a whole 20 minutes to view a few old buildings. Left still looking for a fort.

Located downtown, the fort offers an interesting view of what life was like in the first house in Knoxville. The staff was great in explaining the historical significance of the era in appropriate ways for the kids. Nice little gift shop too!

Walk through the door and you are transported back to the 1700's. Very interesting and authentic with plenty to see. Actually it is a little village where over 100 people were living. Just great. Recommend.

History buffs delight, Short walk from downtown, main door stuck so we had to walk around the outside to confirm access point. Lots of history and antiques around.

If you are at all interested in the history of the town of Knoxville, then you need to experience James White Fort. It is a replica of the way the settlers who were in this area lived. it is highly educational.

Yes there is a nominal fee. With AAA I paid $6 which also applies to AARP, military, seniors, etc. I believe full cost is around $9. In my opinion it was worth it, and commensurate with what it costs for maintenance. Hope... More
