Ken the Ferryman was very knowledgeable of the history of the island and very nice. He is the only ferryman during the summer months. Wondered around the small island and took advantage of the scenery from every direction with the camera. Lots of seagulls and...More

Never made it out to the island but the park has a great view of the small island. Looks so close you could swim to it. Another great park with higher and wider views is Sorrento Park. Might be a difficult climb for some but...More

We love taking the boat across to this little piece of tranquility. It feels like you are alone on the island as it never gets to busy. The kids love to explore so its a win win

Situated south of Dublin's city and accessible by car or DART( train) by walking for about 15 min. So ply walk and look across or take a ride across to the island from a small dock. Lovely place to spend some time away from city.

We went to Dalkey as a half day trip from Dublin. WOW. MUST GO. The locals were so friendly, we stopped at the castle and then headed down to the Coliemore harbour (a 10 minute walk). That's a nice view, to be sure. But then...More

The "ferry" is actually a small motorboat. The island is inhabited by rabbits....very cute. Most impressive are the views from the island.

Think it's a flat rate of less than five euro per person -adult or child. Maybe as low as two euro. You do not need to book in advance. There is no food on the island and no toilets either.
