So worth a visit to just walk around the grounds or stand and listen to the monks chanting...would revisit if we are In County Waterford again...

Mount Melleray Abbey was inhabited by a large community previously. A farm provided for their needs, they generated their own electricity and drew pilgrims from all over Ireland. The community has shrunk now and the place feels sad and forlorn.
